Allen W. Rothenberg, 91, passed away on March 11, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, Samuel G. Rothenberg and Hattie (Kessler) Rothenberg, Allen is survived by his wife, Joy Rothenberg, children: David Rothenberg (Jonelle Forte), Debra Rothenberg (Rick Peterson), and Daniel Rothenberg (Sreypenh), Simon Satco and Frisia Rothenberg (Andrew Jurcisek), grandchildren: Ben and Jonah Peterson, Ava and Emmylou Rothenberg, sister Roberta (Rothenberg) Fairbanks (Jerry), and nephews Shalom Mossman and Mitchel (Robin) Mossman.
Born in NYC on June 13, 1929, Allen was raised in the Bronx and lived in New York, greater Washington DC, Manila (Philippines), and, at the time of his death, Dresden, Ohio. Trumpet player, swimmer, US Marine, private pilot, camp counselor/director, educator, Peace Corps program director, real estate agent, and inn keeper, Allen lived a full and multifaceted life.
“He was a man. Take him for all in all. I shall not look upon his like again.”
Funeral services will take place at 10 AM on Monday, March 15th at 10 AM, Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
