A new summer swim team is forming as a result of the Muskingum Makos Swim Team being discontinued.
The news was made official Tuesday, April 6th after the approval by the Dresden Village Council.
The Dresden Dorados Summer Swim Team will be practicing at their home pool, The Dresden Swim Center. There will also be a big meet on June 19th and 20th at the center.
Swimmers ages 6-18 are invited to join the team. All skill levels are welcome to join this recreational team. Swimmers must be able to swim at least one length of the pool (25 yards) without assistance.
There will be a parent meeting and team suit fitting on Saturday, May 1st from 10am to 12pm at the Dresden Swim Center. Participants will learn about the team, try on suits, and meet the coaches during this time. There will be a team info meeting for parents at 11am. Vendors will also have goggles, suites, and other swim gear for sale at the event.

Practices will start on Tuesday, June 1st. Practices are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9-10am for 10 and under and 10-11am for 11 and older. The last practice is July 22nd.
The Dorados will be swimming in the Tri-County Aquatic League with teams from Licking, Fairfield, and Franklin counties. There will typically be three home meets and three away meets plus a championship meet, however, due to COVID there will not be a championship meet in 2021. Because of this an additional meet may be added. League meets will begin in early to mid-June. The schedule is currently being finalized.
Each swimmer may swim in three individual events and two relays at meets. Swimmers may swim “up” in an older age group’s event.
Registration is $120 for the first swimmer in your family, $100 for the second, $90 for the third and $50 for each additional swimmer. Registration includes a Dorado t-shirt, team cap and all league/meet fees. Registrations after May 23rd will incur a $25 late fee.
Meets are run by parent volunteers. Each team family MUST commit to work at least 5 volunteer jobs during the season (we will train you!). WE ESPECIALLY NEED OFFICIALS! FREE training is provided by the league.
