Lady Dawgs Take Big Wins on The Road

This week the Scotties Softball team has been racking up the wins with three big conference wins both at home and away.

Monday, April 19th, in Thornville, the Lady Dawgs took on the Lady Generals for a battle of rivals. The Scotties took an early lead in the top of the 1st inning on a run brought in by a single line-drive to center from #6 Kierra Joseph. In the top of the 3rd Joseph stepped up again with a 2-run homer to left field brining the score to TV 3 – SHRD 0.

Sheridan was able to avoid the shutout by putting a score on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning but the Lady Dawgs came right back with another 2-run homer this time from #24 Raegan Smith to put the Dawgs up 5 – 1 in the 5th.

The Lady Generals had a homer of their own in the bottom of the 6th to bring in 2 runs and set the score to TV 5 – SHRD 3 and end the scoring for the game.

#23 Liv Rapol took the win for the Scotties throwing for five innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Tuesday, April 20th, the Lady Dawgs came home to face River View at Kenny Wolford Park in Dresden. Striking first the Scotties took the lead in the bottom of the 1st when #2 Falon Wolford made her way across home plate on a ground out from #6 Kierra Joseph to set the score to 1 – 0. River View quickly answered back with a single run late in the top of the 2nd inning tying the score 1 – 1.

The Lady Dawgs lit the scoreboard with a 5-run inning in the bottom of the 2nd and cemented their lead at 6 – 1 against the Lady Bears. In the Bottom of the third inning Falon Wolford hit a 2-run homer to right field and popping the lead up to 8 – 1.

River View was able to land a single in the top of the 4th inning and set the score at TV 8 – RVW 2. However, the Scotties were not done and the bottom of the 4th saw them put up another 6 runs including a 2-run homer by #24 Raegan Smith finishing out the scoring for the game with Tri-Valley 14 – River View 2.

The Lady Dawgs followed the same recipe when they traveled to Coshocton to face the Lady Redskins on Thursday, April 22nd. Falon Wolford had four big hits during the game including a homer in the 3rd, a homer and a single in the 4th, and a grand slam in the fifth innings contributing to the blowout score of 20 – 2 over the Lady Redskins.

The Scotties face conference team Philo Lady Electrics on Monday, April 26th, at Kenny Wolford Park in Dresden. Game time is 5pm.
