Local Company, Ford’s Towing Recognized By Dresden Fire Department For Their Service To The Community

Ford’s Towing, LLC. Was started in 2010 by Scott and Julie Ford. At the time they started Scott had retired after 23 years on the Fire Department including 7 years as a member of the Dresden Volunteer Fire Department, and Julie was an EMT in Dresden for 10 years.

After spending some time thinking about what he would do after retiring Scott decided to go with what he knows. Scott’s father James Ford Jr. had a towing business in nearby Zanesville that he started in 1968 after operating the Ford’s BP on Blue and State streets in Zanesville which was open from 1966 to 2002.

James loved assisting local law enforcement and fire departments on tow calls, and likewise Scott and Julie have followed that same trend. This service has brought them many friendships and much joy as they have always been big supporters of the community.

As part of the community over the past 11 years, Ford’s Towing has been happy to assist the local Fire Department as much as they could. They have provided not just financial contributions but also cars for the firefighters to use for vital training such as vehicle fires, jaws-of-life vehicle extraction and more. Along with this, the Fords have assisted in any towing needs of the local Police and Fire departments.

“With me being a retired firefighter, and Julie a former EMT the fire department has always had a special place in our hearts” said Scott Ford.

The Dresden Volunteer Fire Department presented an award to the Fords at a banquet held on April 10th for their contributions to the Dresden Fire Department. The award was to be given originally in 2020 but was postponed to this year due to COVID restrictions.
