Families and residents were invited to a free open house event hosted by the Dresden Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, October 2.
Over 200 people attended the event which included demonstrations, tours of the fire station, health and safety information displays, refreshments, a bounce house, a large inflatable fire safety house, and a special visit from Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol. In addition, tables were set up for the Muskingum County Sheriff, Med Flight, and the Red Cross.
Around noon that day, an Extraction Demo using the “Jaws of Life” was performed using a car that was donated by the Sheriff’s Department and hauled by Ford’s Towing. The event was held just before the start of Fire Prevention Week which runs from October 3rd through 9th. The Dresden Volunteer Fire Department has been sharing fire safety information all week on their Facebook page, facebook.com/dresdenfd.
