The Tri-Valley girls varsity soccer team recently celebrated their one and only senior for the 2021 season #22 Alicia Ritchie. Alicia has been a star not only on the soccer field for the Scotties but is also a forward thinking advanced student.
Alicia has played soccer for 14 years, starting with the ROSA program at age four. After rising through the ranks of club level soccer for 10 years with Arsenal S.C. she moved on to be a starter for the all four years of her high school career and has been captain of the team for the last two seasons. Some of the awards she has accumulated over the years include; MVL midfielder of the year, 1st Team MVL, and 1st Team East District. Alicia lead the team in goals and assists her freshman and sophomore years and assists her junior year.
Along with her love of soccer, Alicia also loved her four years with the Big Rascals 4-H club and played basketball for seven years. She is currently attending Zane State full time and will be graduating from TVHS in December of this year. After high school she plans to attend The Paul Mitchell School in Columbus and she may pursue a business degree at Kent State in the future.
Escorting Alicia across the field was her parents, Scott and Betsy Ritchie and her senior gifts were presented by Darby Reilly, and Zoe & Sophie Durfee.
Alicia said a thank you to her past and present coaches; Scott Ritchie, Steve Ashby, Frank Vankirk, Matt Robinson, Tom Hutcheson, Steve Tyner, Emily Reilly, and Maddee Stones! But she had a special thank you to her dad for always pushing her so hard over the years, and to her favorite coach Mick Amicone, he will forever be her #1 coach and grandpa on the soccer field. Her final thank you was to her grandpa Bob for trying his hardest to make it to games that he could and paying up for every goal and assist, his efforts didn’t go unnoticed.
Her favorite quote came from coach Reilly herself during a scrimmage and it was “Live life and go have fun!”.
