After a lack-luster battle against Co-MVL lead rival John Glenn that ended in a tie keeping the two teams locked in first together, the Lady Dawgs had been looking forward to their last conference game against Coshocton to settle the score and finalize the Co-MVL Championship standings, and they did just that with a rocking 7 – 1 win over the Lady Redskins on Thursday, October 14th, at Kenny Wolford Park.
Tri-Valley did not want to let the MVL title slip out of their grasp after working so hard for the season, so they had a lot to prove as the Lady Redskins stepped onto the field to battle it out. Coshocton was able to squeeze in one goal in the first half of the game but the Lady Dawgs were not about to roll over as they handily pelted back five goals of their own to end the half.
In the second half of play, the Tri-Valley defense was too strong for the Lady Redskins to pass and they were shutout of scoring for the remainder of the game while the Lady Dawgs padded their lead with two more goals to finish out the game with a 7 – 1 win and the coveted MVL Co-Title.
Tri-Valley’s lead plays for the night belonged to Alicia Ritchie with two goals and two assists, Ally Barclay had two goals, Nevaeh Peffers had two goals, and Lexi Klotzbach had one goal, while Alison Yingling had five saves.
Congratulations Lady Dawgs on another great season and the MVL Title!!
