Last week, Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine visited Frazeysburg to announce a $455,000 grant to replace the media that helps to remove contaminants in our village’s filter at the water plant.
The replacement project was started in 2017 but was cost-prohibitive and was not completed. Thanks to a new water infrastructure initiative, Ohio BUILDS, we can move forward to remove our outdated hatches and the old media, clean chambers, and undergo the necessary inspections needed to determine any further repairs for our 1,326 residents.
Funded by the Ohio General Assembly as part of House Bill 168, the grant allows us to reduce the financial burden on our citizens for a new water system, thereby freeing up funding for other projects.
This initiative shows that our state leaders, including Governor DeWine, Representative Adam Holmes, and Senator Tim Schaffer care about helping Ohio’s rural communities and improving our quality of life.
