Like the true champions they are, the Lady Dawgs fought through pouring rain as they battled West Muskingum for the District Title on Thursday, October 28th.
With most of the game set in constant rainfall, the Scotties girls wasted no time making sure they were locking in the win for the District title as they pushed down the field in the first half in order for #6 Avery Dunn to land the first goal of the game.
As the game wore on the Scotties were looking to increase their lead to two with another push this time allowing #19 Nevaeh Peffers to grab a goal for the Lady Dawgs and lock in their winning score of 2 points.
West Muskingum tried to make a comeback late in the second half and managed a goal in response but with multiple shots on the goal they were not able to tie up the game and fell to the Scotties 2 – 1 making the Lady Dawgs the District champions and pushed them into the Regional Semi-finals against Fairfield Union on Tuesday, November 2nd at Logan High School. Unfortunately, their playoff season ended there as the Scotties fell to Fairfield Union 3 – 0.
Congratulations on a wonderful season and we look forward to seeing most of you back on the field next year!
