The Lady Dawgs worked their way to their 18th straight win and this was not just any win, this win got them the District Title and a chance to move on to the Regional Semi-finals which they played on Thursday, November 4.
The game against Dover could be described as one of their most challenging of the season as they are used to blowing by their opponents in a clean sweep of 3 sets and scores of 25-6 or 25-12 but this game was much different as they encountered staunch resistance from the Dover squad as they fought off each play and bounded back with their own shots.
The first set was back and forth so much that the Tri-Valley girls only squeezed out a 2 point win at 25 – 23. As the second set started up the Crimson Tornadoes reminded the Scotties why this was a championship game as they pushed their way to a 25 – 20 victory over the Lady Dawgs. In the third set of the game, the Scotties stepped up their tempo and fought back to another set win of 25 – 21. The final set was close, but Tri-Valley pulled out all of the stops in the end to win the set and the game 25 – 18.
For the game Abby Stanford had 11 kills – 5 digs – 2 blocks, Eva Dittmar had 17 kills – 2 digs – 4 blocks, Lexi Howe had 12 kills – 1 assist – 14 digs – 2 blocks – 1 ace, Hannah King had 10 kills – 2 assists – 22 digs – 2 aces, Elle McLoughlin had 7 kills – 26 assists – 13 digs, Aubrey Fritter had 23 assists – 2 digs – 2 aces, Katya Liber had 33 digs, and Janie Mcloughlin had 2 kills – 4 assists – and 5 blocks.
The Lady Dawgs met up with Meadowbrook for the D2 Regional Semi-finals and it was quite a showdown. Meadowbrook brought their A-game as they took the first two sets of the game, but the Lady Scotties were not going to back down as they bounced back to take the next three sets and end the game 3 – 2. After this big win, the girls are moving on to the Regional Finals “Elite Eight”.
