Samuel A. “Pete” Purtee, 82, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday morning, November 11, 2021 at his home.
Born November 29, 1938 in Seaman, Ohio he was a son of the late James Noah and Marjorie Isabelle (Brooks) Purtee. Pete proudly served our country in the United States Army as a gunner. He was Christian by faith and was an ordained minister. Pete loved life and was a dedicated, godly, and giving person who loved to travel. He gave greatly of his time by building schools in Mexico as a missionary.
Surviving are his four sons, Doug (Dreama) Purtee of Hamilton, Ohio, Jamie (Dina) Purtee of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jason (Renee) Purtee of Frazeysburg and Jon (Holly) Purtee of Utica, Ohio; a daughter, Julienne Rose of Lancaster, Ohio; a son-in-law Mike Houston of Ripley, Ohio; twenty-three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda (Gaswint) Purtee; a daughter, Tammy Houston and fourteen siblings.
Following Pete’s wishes, there will be a private graveside ceremony for family and friends at a later date.
