Tri-Valley Swim Team Is Racking Up The Points Again This Season

With a couple of invitationals under their belts, the boys and girls on the Tri-Valley swim team are doing a great job.

In the Roosenberg Invitational on December 4th, the Scotties brought home a 4th place girls team win and ninth place out of 19 teams for the boys. Hansel Holmes grabbed 3rd in the boys 200-yard while Jesi Fuhriman got 4th in the girls 50 yard freestyle and Hansel Holmes also brought home first place in the boys 100 yard butterfly and the girls team picked up third place in the girls 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Scotties moved on to the Northridge meet at New Albany High School on December 11th, where Tri-Valley took first place overall with a score of 693, with the girls team placing first and the boys team placing second among five teams.

For the meet Tri-Valley took first place in the girls 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:08.91 and third in the boys 200-yard medley relay. Freshman Dani Stewart swam to a second place finish in the girls 200-yard freestyle followed by teamate sophomore Mia Fuhriman who came in third.

In the boys 200-yard freestyle senior Blaine Cox took first place with a time of 2:07.76 followed close behind in third place by junior Gabe Lentz. For the girls 200-yard IM junior Emma Pratt pulled up in third place followed directly by sophomore Jesi Fuhriman in fourth. Senior Seryna Mann took third place for the girls in the 50-yard freestyle, while junior Ethan Ankrom grabbed fourth place for the boys 50-yard freestyle.

In the girls 100-yard butterfly sophomore Abri Mallet took first place with a time of 1:18.31 followed by senior teammate Seryna Mann in second. For the boys 100-yard butterfly junior Hansel Holmes took first with a time of 56.58.

For the girls 100-yard freestyle sophomore Jesi Fuhriman took home second place followed not too far behind in fourth place by junior teammate Katie Davis. For the boys 100-yard freestyle junior Scottie Gabe Lentz swam in at third place.

The next event was the girls 500-yard freestyle where teammates Mazie Mallet, and Allie Norman gained second and third place respectively. In the boys 500-yard freestyle junior Arpen Parekh grabbed fourth place for the Scotties.

In the girls 200-yard freestyle relay teammates Seryna Mann, Emma Pratt, Mia Fuhriman and Jesi Fuhriman came in second with a time of 1:54.90.

Likewise in the boys 200-yard freestyle relay Scotties Gabe Lentz, Arpen Parekh, Carter Dinan, and Ethan Ankrom pulled up in third with a time of 1:55.42

Individually in the girls 100-yard backstroke freshman Dani Stewart made first place with a time of 1:13.94 followed closely by freshman Nora Dunn in fourth. For the boys team senior Blaine Cox touched the wall at second place with a time of 1:09.19

The girls 100-yard breaststroke had teammates Mia Fuhriman and Abri Mallet swimming to the line in second and fourth places respectively, while Hansel Holmes was able to grab third place for the boys team.

Both the boys and the girls teams took first place in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay. The girls team of Seryna Mann, Dani Stewart, Emma Pratt, and Abri Mallet pulled in at a time of 4:21.46. The boys team consisting of Blaine Cox, Carter Dinan, Gabe Lentz, and Hansel Holmes had a time of 4:01.86.

The Tri-Valley swimmers move on to their next meet on Friday, December 17th, at the Ohio University Aquatic Center where they will compete against Athens and Lancaster.
