Brian Mortellaro, Owner/Operator of eight McDonald’s restaurants in Central Ohio, has won a Ronald Award, an accolade that recognizes McDonald’s Owner/Operators for outstanding contributions to McDonald’s, their employees and guests, and their local community.
McDonald’s presents the prestigious Ronald Award each year to individuals who not only operate top-performing restaurants, but also exemplify the best of the McDonald’s brand. Mortellaro was one of 20 McDonald’s Owner/Operators across the country to receive the honor this year.
“I am humbled to receive the Ronald Award. Our entire organization works hard every day to serve our neighbors,” said Mortellaro. “As a local small business owner, it’s important to me to give back and do our part to support the community.”
Mortellaro is a second-generation McDonald’s owner-operator; his father, Joe Mortellaro, owns seven locations across Central Ohio. He has always been passionate about his local community and currently is a member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio board, an organization that serves more than 4,500 families each year.
“We are proud that Brian is part of the McDonald’s family. Every day, Brian shows up for the community and their employees by pitching in wherever he can, helping out anyone who asks.” said Charlie Newberger, McDonald’s Columbus Field Vice President. “He is a pillar of his local community and represents the best of the Golden Arches.”
Being part of the community means supporting people every day, and especially when they need it most. With more than 14,000 locations across the U.S., McDonald’s is uniquely positioned to give back to the many communities it serves. Because the majority of its restaurants are run by independent franchisees, McDonald’s has deep roots in its communities and knows how best to be there for them, whether that’s providing a delicious meal, volunteering in the neighborhood, or helping during a time of need.
