Dresden United Methodist Church Secretary, Julie Ford, Retires After 30 Years of Service

January 27, 2022, marked Julie Ford’s last day as church secretary for the Dresden United Methodist Church (UMC), a role she has occupied for 30 years as of November 2021.

Throughout her time working at Dresden UMC she has had the opportunity to work with nine pastors.

Dresden UMC Pastor Dan Wells posted this message to the church’s Facebook page Thursday afternoon. “Thank you for the years poured into this ministry, this church, this village. Thank you for keeping the light shining when things got dark and felt hopeless. Thank you for never giving up on the fact that God was not done with Dresden UMC. Because of your spirit, love, organization, and work, Dresden UMC is a place of holy love, grace, and growth. Dresden is a better place because of you. We can’t thank you enough.”

Just as one example of her generous nature, in 1999 when the church addition was being built, Julie moved the church office to a spare living room in her home with a separate entrance.

Julie has been a staple for the Dresden UMC and in the community. She was a Water Department clerk for the Village of Dresden while working at the church years ago and more recently helps with operations as Co-Owner at Ford’s Towing in Dresden. Julie plans to spend a lot more time at the Ford’s Towing office.
