Scottie Swimmers Battling Their Way Forward To Division II Swimming Sectionals Feb 12th

The Scotties Swim Team traveled to the Ohio University Aquatic Center on February 6th to take part in the SEOSL Championship against 12 other teams. The girls team brought home second place overall with a score of 144, only beat out by 7 points by neighboring Coshocton High School. The boys team brought home fifth place overall with a score of 58.

The thirteen teams involved in the meet were Tri-Valley, Coshocton, Marietta, The Plains Athens, Warren – Vincent, Cambridge, Crooksville, Bishop Rosecrans, River View, Newark, Notre Dame, Bidwell River Valley, John Glenn, and West Muskingum.

Starting off the night Tri-Valley girls team took fourth place in the Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay with a team of Emma Pratt, Annika Lindsey, Dannan Stewart, and Katie Davis. For the Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay the Scotties took fourth as well with the team of Hans Holmes, Gabriel Lentz, Carter Dinan, and Ethan Ankrom.

In the Girls 200 Yard Freestyle Alexzandria Norman grabbed a second-place finish with a time of 2:22.69. For the Girls 200 Yard IM Dannan Stewart came in second with a time of 2:41.04.

For the Boys 100 Yard Butterfly, Hans Holmes took a first-place finish with a time of 54.30. In the Girls 500 Yard Freestyle Alexzandria Norman grabbed second place followed in third place by teammate Seryna Mann.

The Girls 200 Yard Freestyle Relay saw the Tri-Valley team of Emma Pratt, Katie Davis, Alexzandria Norman, and Seryna Mann take fourth place with a time of 2:00.22. Likewise in the Boys 200 Yard Freestyle Relay the team of Ethan Ankrom, Carter Dinan, Gabriel Lentz, and Hans Holmes took home fifth place with a time of 1:41.41.

Emma Pratt swam in at first position for the Girls 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:10.14. Gabriel Lentz got a fifth-place finish for the Boys 100 Yard Breaststroke.

Tri-Valley received a fourth-place ranking for the Girls 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with a team of Dannan Stewart, Kendyll Buckner, Alexzandria Norman, and Seryna Mann with a time of 4:38.06

On Saturday, February 12th, the Scottie swim team will travel to Steubenville High School for the Division II Swimming Sectionals – East District from 10am-4pm.
