Dawgs Beat Indian Creek And Move On To Sectional Title Match Saturday

Tri-Valley came into the game as the number two seed against Indian Creek who was seeded at number 13, but that didn’t stop the Redskins from putting up a huge fight.

Right out of the gate Indian Creek proved that they would not be a push-over for this game which would mean their team could move on in the playoffs. The Redskins matched the Dawgs shot for shot in the first period outscoring them by one point leaving the Scotties down 13-12 at the buzzer for the period.

As the half-time buzzer grew closer, the Scotties tried to turn up the heat, but Indian Creek kept up with matching aggression as they rounded out the half by Tri-Valley taking the lead by one point at 25-24 before heading to the locker room.

After the half, the Dawgs hit the court ready to get the win that would lead them to the Sectional Title match but the Redskins kept in step with the intensity to show they were leaving it all on the court. The Tri-Valley boys were able to pad their lead a little with a five-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

In the final period of play, the Dawgs came to life with senior Jalen Goins-Chandler taking the scoring lead as he pumped up the volume for three treys and a total of 13 points for the quarter which saw the Scotties take a final 17 point lead over the Redskins to win the game and send them on to the title match with Tri-Valley at 58 – Indian Creek at 41.
