Coach Christi Holmes Tri-Valley swim team has had a great season placing in many of the meets that they have had and bringing in a great number of podium finishes for the individual swimmers on the team. One of the top swimmers on the team happens to be the coach’s own son, Hansel Holmes. Over the season he has brought in countless first-place finishes as well as a great number of relay wins with his team. Recently Hansel qualified for the 2022 Ohio State High School Division II Swimming and Diving Championships held at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio, February 23rd through 26th. Hans will be competing in the Boys 100 Yard Butterfly for Division 2.
“Super proud of the work Hansel has put in to make it to the state meet this year. It was a close call in qualifying this time around but hoping he’ll swim a little faster at this meet. As a “part-time” swimmer, it’s extra tough to compete with his competition, since most of them train year-round, but I know he’ll give it his best effort. He’s definitely motivated to swim in Canton and represent the Scotties! I’m excited for him!” stated coach Holmes.
