Diamond Dawgs Are Turning Their Season Around With Trio of Wins

Following many weather cancellations, the Dawgs were happy to get back on the field for a doubleheader at Fort Frye where they faced off against two teams, the Fort Frye Cadets followed by the Warren Warriors, before coming back home to grab a big shutout win against visiting River View Black Bears.

Fort Frye came to play, but so did the Scotties as they took an early 4 – 1 lead and held it until the bottom of the fifth when the Cadets had a four-run inning to take the lead at 5 – 4. Tri-Valley tied up the score in the sixth inning not knowing that the tie would last until the 10th inning when the Dawgs lit up the scoreboard with two runs to take the 6 – 5 win.

Against the Warriors, the Scotties proved that they were not going home with just one win as they dominated the Warren team to bring home a 6 – 1 victory.

Back on home field at Kenny Wolford park in Dresden, on Wednesday, April 20th, the Dawgs stepped up to the plate for a shutout game against the River View Black Bears.

The game went scoreless for the first three innings as the Dawgs assessed their opponents but in the top of the fourth inning the boys struck up their bats as they laid out three runs. River View could not answer back and in the top of the next two innings Tri-Valley put up another three runs each shoving the lead to 9 – 0.

In the seventh inning, the Dawgs grabbed the 10th and final point of the game and sent River View home with nothing to show for the day.
