The 2022 Frazeysburg Homecoming begins on Thursday, June 9 at 6 pm. The three-day event will run through Saturday, June 11. The Grand Parade will be held at 6 pm on June 11. The full schedule of events can be found below.
Carl and Carolyn Vensil will lead the Frazeysburg Grand Parade and represent the Frazeysburg fire department as leaders of the community. They were selected as this year’s grand marshals because of their dedication and support to not only the fire department, but to the community as a whole. Both Carl and Carolyn are licensed funeral directors and they have been the owner/operators of Vensil & Chute Funeral Homes for over 41 years. Carolyn is also a Registered Nurse and recently retired from Genesis Health Care. Carl has been associated with the funeral business for over 51 years and is a former Mayor of Frazeysburg. Carl and Carolyn will be married 48 years this June and are the parents of six children, Melissa (Ryan) Leas, Carrie (Terry) Swartz, Julie (Joe) Bice, Katie (Tucker) Hall, Seth (Leah) Vensil and Darrin (Lauren) Vensil. They also have twelve grandchildren! Carl and Carolyn mentioned they are honored to be selected as this year’s Grand Parade Marshals.
Attendant Maleah Perry, resides in Frazeysburg with her father Mark Perry & step mother, Misty Josslyn. Maleah is currently a freshman at Tri-Valley High School. She is a member of the high school marching band, pep band, jazz band & symphonic band. Maleah also participates in track. In her free time, she enjoys reading. After high school, Maleah plans to major in Psychology or Neuroscience. During the homecoming, Maleah will be escorted by Parker Schehl.
Queen Sydney Swartz, is the granddaughter of Jim & Sandy Swartz. Sydney is currently a senior at Tri-Valley High School. She participates in the Tri-Valley Marching band. Sydney attends Meadow View Church of Christ & is employed at Whits in Zanesville. Sydney will be attending Ohio University Zanesville this fall to pursue a Bachelors degree in Social Work. Sydney will be escorted by Evan Coleman during the homecoming.
