Muskingum Valley All-Stars Pull Out Last Minute Win Against Licking Valley

Tri-Valley head coach Cameron West will be all warmed up by the start of the upcoming Scotties season after taking the helm of the Muskingum Valley All-Stars for their recent All-Star playoff game on June 17th, in Dresden.

After losing to the Licking Valley team for the last two years, Muskingum was determined to make this a memorable year, and they did. Progressing toward the end zone was a little slow for the Muskingum team as they fought off some defensive change-ups and had some difficulties early in the game.

Out of the gate, Licking Valley was able to make some headway on the field, just four plays into the game Canter passed to Huber for a 50-yard touchdown that they followed up with a two-point conversion to take a fast lead at 8 – 0.

Muskingum however was just getting started as they were able to push forward for a total of two touchdowns before ending the first half of the game with a 14 – 8 lead.

After the half-time break, Licking Valley came out with a new determination as they pushed and pulled their way back to a 23 – 14 lead with just six minutes remaining in the game.

Harley Hopkins was able to dive into the end zone for a touchdown narrowing the gap to just 23 – 21. The Muskingum defense was able to rally and get the ball back in their hands with a 53-yard pass from Josh Hupp to Jalen Goins-Chandler the team was in perfect position for the 20-yard field goal kick from Kobe Rust that won the game with the go-ahead point with just 25 seconds left on the clock.

The win gives the Muskingum Valley All-Stars a 21 – 19 game lead in the series.
