Obituary: Phillip W. Ashcraft

Phillip W. Ashcraft, 47, of Adamsville, died Tuesday afternoon, July 12, 2022 at Genesis Hospital Emergency Room.

Born January 20, 1975 in Zanesville, he was a son of Diana J. (Wolford) Ashcraft and the late James L. Ashcraft.  Phil was a 1993 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and quite the jokester.  He enjoyed hunting his rabbit dogs, watching stock car racing and the Muskingum County fair.  Phil’s greatest joy in life was watching his daughters play softball.

Surviving is his mother, Diana Ashcraft; his loving wife of 26 years, Tammy (Ross) Ashcraft, whom he married August 26, 1995; three daughters, Lindsay, Jenna and Macy Ashcraft; a son, Jacob Ashcraft; a grandson, Caron Bowen; three siblings, Jim (Martha) Ashcraft, Rodney (Trisha) Ashcraft and Dixie (Ben) Gee; father-in-law, Larry Ross; brother-in-law, Mike Ross and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Phil was preceded in death by, his mother-in-law, Linda Ross; maternal grandparents, Ben and Bonnie Wolford and paternal grandparents, Leland and Eloise Ashcraft.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jenna and Macy Ashcraft’s College Fund at any Park National Bank.

Calling hours were July 18, 2022 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 11:00am with Minister Sam Dunn and Pastor Pamela Lashley officiating.

Phil was laid to rest at Heaven’s Gate Cemetery, Adamsville.
