Get your fishing poles, and melon cars ready because the annual Dresden Melon Festival is Saturday, August 6 at Dresden River Park starting at 9:00 in the morning and running all day.
Annual kids contests like the melon eating contest and seed spitting contest return as well as the smallmouth fishing tournament, 5K race, cruise-in, and melon derby.
For musical entertainment there will be three bands/guests throughout the day including Sticks & Stones starting at 3:00 PM, DJ Daniel Spiker starting at 6:00 PM, and Paradygm Shyft beginning at 8:00 PM.
Of course, we can expect to see food and craft vendors on site as well.
There is a $1 admission price at the gate before 4 pm and $2 after 4 pm.
The Dresden Melon Festival is a celebration of the area’s melon-growing heritage and brings the community together for a fun day on the banks of the Muskingum River.
