AIM Ice Cream Truck Gets National Recognition in GoFundMe Featured Article

The Watson family and their AIM ice cream truck were featured on the widely popular website, GoFundMe. The site’s blog titled “GoFundMe Heroes” features a different individual or charity each month that is using their website to raise money for a cause.

Jason and Anne Watson and their three kids have been helping the community for years through the AIM Outreach food bank in the old Frazeysburg Elementary School. In 2020 they bought and restored an old ice cream truck and have been delivering frozen treats and hot lunches for free to children around the Tri-Valley area.

Earlier this summer the Watsons started a GoFundMe to help with the heavy costs involved in keeping the ice cream truck safely running. Engine and transmission issues were among those on the list to address.

Prior to turning to GoFundMe for help, the Watsons would always get asked by members of the community how they could help. Since starting the fundraising page the Watsons have raised $2,370 and have been able to address the immediate mechanical issues. They are nearly halfway to their goal of $5,000. The additional funds will help with operating costs and maybe even aid in expanding their route to include neighboring towns that are also in need.
