Meadows To Write For Dresden Buzz

Long-time sports writer for the Dresden Transcript, Gregg Meadows will be bringing his talents to the Dresden Buzz with football articles starting in the August 26th issue.

“I’m excited to have Gregg writing football articles for the Buzz. His years of experience in the world of TV sports will be a huge asset for the paper,” stated Lynette Dotson, Editor for the Dresden Buzz.

Meadows, a 1975 Tri-Valley graduate and retired Air Force Veteran started writing for the local paper in 1979 and continued until they inevitably closed their doors in 2018. Gregg has been announcing football, girls basketball, and boys basketball games for Tri-Valley since 1983 and worked for the school as an educational aide until he retired in 2020 after 17 years. He also has been a sports writer for the Tri-Valley Athletics website.

In 2006 Meadows was inducted into the Tri-Valley Schools Hall of Distinction. Outside of working with the school, he has been the Dresden Homecoming MC since 1987, and the Dresden American Legion Memorial Day MC since 1999.

Meadows met his wife Amy when she went to work for the Transcript in the mid 90’s and has been married to her for 33 years, he has four children Katie, Sarah, Ryan, and Rachel, as well as three grandchildren.

Starting with the next issue, the Buzz will be publishing football articles written by Meadows in each paper for the season.

“I am glad to have the opportunity to write sports, I just like a print paper!” stated Meadows.
