Last week the Tri-Valley girls varsity volleyball squad landed three very decisive victories against Indian Valley, Crooksville, and Morgan. Two of those wins were conference sweeps that push the Scotties closer to an MVL Title.
At Indian Valley on Monday, September 12th, the two teams were equally matched battling back and forth. In the first set, the Scotties fought hard just pushing past with a win of 25 – 21. Set two was even closer as the Indian Valley team grabbed one extra point to end the set TV 25 – IV 22. Set three saw the Indian Valley team grab the upper hand and run with it as they stole the set 25 – 18. In the final set Tri-Valley came back for a big win with a 25 – 13 set win to win the match 3 – 1.
Crooksville had a short visit to Dresden on Tuesday, September 13th, as the Tri-Valley girls pushed their way to a speedy 3 – 0 sweep of the match with 25 – 5 in the first set, 25 – 8 in the second, and 25 – 17 in the third. Giving the Scotties another MVL win in the bag.
The Lady Raiders hosted the Tri-Valley girls for a conference match on Thursday, September 15th. The Morgan girls were good but they couldn’t keep up with Tri-Valley as the Lady Dawgs grabbed the win with a three set sweep of 25 – 17, 25 – 17, and 25 – 18.
This week the girls started off facing non-conference Dover High School on Coach Rich Longaberger Court in Dresden. As before it was a three-game sweep featuring a very competitive first set where the girls battled back and forth to edge out Dover with a 25 – 23 win. Set two saw the Lady Dawgs catch their stride as they put down their opponents with a much quicker 25 – 16 win. The girls finished off the match for a sweep with a 25 – 11 final set. For the match Ingrid Dittmar had 32 assists, Eva Dittmar had 19 kills, Lexi Howe had 9 kills and 18 digs. Serving for the Scotties, Kenzie Albertson had 16/19 with five aces, and Lexi Howe had 14/15 with one ace.
Following the win against Dover, the Lady Tornadoes rolled into town to test their metal against Tri-Valley. The game was fairly short as the Lady Dawgs started off strong with a quick 25 – 13 win in set one. Set two saw the girls maintain control of the ball as they pelted the visiting West M girls with kill after kill to take the set 25 – 15. Their opponents tried to gain ground in the final set, fighting with all they had, but the Scotties were too much as they took the final set for another sweep 25 – 20. For the game Ingrid Dittmar had 28 assists, Eva Dittmar had 13 kills and 2 blocks, Lexi Howe had 11 kills and 8 digs, and Caity Journey had 13 digs. Serving for Tri-Valley Eva Dittmar had 11/11 with one ace, and Annika Collet had 16/17 with two aces.
Currently, the Lady Dawgs have a 9 – 4 overall record with a 6 – 3 MVL record.
