As they wrap up regular season play, Coach Emily Reilly’s varsity girls soccer team is holding steady at second place in the MVL with a 6 – 0 – 1 record and a 7 – 6 – 2 record overall.
In their last game of September, the girls picked up their second tie of the season against Licking Valley with a 3 – 3 final score.
On Monday, October 3rd, the Scotties girls team had a late evening matchup against visiting Johnstown-Monroe. Despite the chilling evening air, the Lady Dawgs were fired up and ready to take on this non-conference team. The girls fought hard, keeping the ball in their possession a majority of the first half, and landed two goals before the half-time buzzer.
After the half, the Fighting Johnnies tried to pick up the defense and they were able to land a goal of their own but the Scotties were still controlling the ball most of the second half and added another two goals to their tally as they won the game 4 – 1 against Johnstown.
The girls wrap up regular season play on Thursday, October 13th when they face off against Coshocton.
