Tri-Valley Volleyball Team Riding A Nine-Game Winning Streak With An 11 – 3 MVL Record So Far

The Lady Dawgs have been hard at work racking up wins. They have obviously been putting in the hours a practice to get to the point of a nine-game winning streak with three big conference wins to wrap up September.

The girls got on the bus headed from Warsaw on Saturday, September 24th to face the River View Lady Black Bears. Earlier in the month, River View had given the Scotties one of their only three losses in the conference when they visited Tri-Valley High School, so the girls were looking to rematch. Just like earlier in the season the Lady Black Bears put up a strong fight battling it out shot for shot in the first set that was finally settled at a TV 27 – RV 25 score. Set two was almost at the exact same pace with River View only falling by two points with TV 25 – RV 23. To keep from getting swept the RV girls whipped up a frenzy of scores to just beat out the Lady Dawgs in set three with a score of TV 25 – RV 27. In true Scottie fashion, the girls came up big in the end with a huge 25 – 11 upset to end the match and grab the win. For the match Ingrid Dittmar had 38 assists and five kills, Eva Dittmar had 22 kills a block and served 24/25 with one ace, Lexi Howe had 16 kills and 19 digs and served 17/19 with four aces, Annika Collet had five kills, Sami Cameron had four blocks, Caity Journey had 15 digs, and Kenzie Albertson served a 24/26 with seven aces.

The Scotties met up with their neighboring rivals from John Glenn on Tuesday, September 27th for a repeat match where the girls were hoping to grab another three-set sweep from the Lil Muskies, but the girls from New Concord were not going to go down without a fight this time.

In a rare five-set match against the Scotties John Glenn grasped the lead right off the bat bringing the first set to a close with a score of TV 18 – JG 25. Set two saw the Lady Dawgs turn the tables on their opponents with a score of TV 25 – JG 18. The third set had the Lil Muskies back on the offensive with another win at TV 16 – JG 25. Tri-Valley was able to bring the fourth and finally the fifth set to a close with a close call on the fourth at TV 25 – JG 23 but then a decisive last set score of TV 15 – JG 7.

The Tri-Valley squad wrapped up September with a final match on Thursday, the 29th against conference team the Philo Lady Electrics. Just like their meetup at the beginning of the month, the Lady Dawgs made quick work of the Philo team with a three-set sweep of TG 25 – PH 11, TG 25 – PH 18, and TG 25 – PH 14.

For the match Eva Dittmar had 15 kills and four blocks, Lexi Howe had 11 kills – nine digs and served 13/14 with one ace, Sami Cameron had three blocks, Ingrid Dittmar had 27 assists, Caity Journey had 14 digs, Kenzie Albertson had nine digs, and Annika Collet served 11/12 with four aces.
