Scotties Boys Soccer Team Ends Season With One Playoff Win and One Loss

After wrapping up their regular season play with a big win against Coshocton, Tri-Valley entered into the playoffs hoping to take it all the way. Odds looked good after a big win against neighboring rival Philo Electrics, but John Glenn shut down the Dawgs playoff entry just two games in.

On Tuesday, October 11th, the Scotties ended their regular season play with a shutout 5-0 win against Coshocton. The Dawgs started off firing goal shots early on landing three goals before halftime. After the half, the boys kept up the offensive drives, landing two more goals and holding the Redskins scoreless to finish the game with a shutout.

Back at home on Saturday, October 15th, the Tri-Valley team took on the visiting Philo Electrics for their first playoff game of the post-season. Philo tried to battle the Scotties but could only manage one goal in the first half of the game while being crushed by five goals from the Dawgs offense before the half ended. After halftime the Tri-Valley team locked down the Philo offense, shutting them out of any further scoring while the Scotties pushed through three more goals to end their first playoff game with an 8 – 1 win pushing them on to face number MVL ranked rival, John Glenn, on Tuesday, October 18th, in New Concord.

Up against the top seat, the Scottie boys held their own for as long as they could and they landed one goal against the league champs but eventually fell by a final score of 3 – 1 to end the season for the Dawgs.
