Scotties Girls Varsity Soccer Gained MVL Co-Title With John Glenn After Beating Coshocton

Tri-Valley girls varsity soccer wrapped up their regular season with a game against conference foe Coshocton Lady Redskins on Thursday, October 13th. In conference play the girls have been undefeated this season and only tied with John Glenn leaving both teams with a 7-0-1 MVL record for the regular season.

On Thursday night, the girls jumped on the bus headed for Coshocton for their last game before playoffs, and hoping to get the win to share the MVL title. As they stepped on the field the intensity went from 0 – 60 very quickly with the Scottie girls being the first to land a goal for the game. With persistence and speed the girls not only kept the lead but bolstered their points by adding two more goals before the halftime buzzer.

After halftime the Lady Dawgs didn’t want to let up on the Coshocton defense, so they kept control of the ball and grabbed three more goals for the win while shutting out the Lady Redskins completely and locking in their Co-MVL title seat with John Glenn with a 6 – 0 victory.

For the game Avery Dunn lead the scoring for the Scotties with 3 goals, Maddie Garber had 2 goals and an assist. Alison Yingling had 3 saves in goal for the Lady Dawgs and the team finished with an overall record of 9 – 6 – 2.

For playoffs, the girls got on the bus to Marysville on Wednesday October 19th. Unfortunately the girls took a hard loss to end their playoff run just as it began with Marysville taking down the Scotties 6 – 0 in the Division 1 Sectional Semifinal.
