Eric And Ashley Smith Thankfully Give Back To the Community

The Smith’s have been a part of the local community for over a decade and Eric opened Smitty’s Barber Shop in Frazeysburg back in December 2019 with his wife Ashley opening her business 44 Custom Apparel in 2021.

As part of the community, Eric and Ashley felt compelled to give back and came up with an idea to give away meals on Thanksgiving Day to anyone who needed them. Being long-time friends with the Watsons who run Aim Outreach, they first approached them three years ago with the idea and asked for guidance. With a little help and encouragement, they were soon on their way to delivering 70-plus meals.

Any leftovers from the meals are taken to Christ’s Table in Zanesville by Ashley’s parents who help out with the giveaway. Also helping are the Smith’s three children Carter, Emma, and Gabbie. They form an assembly line in the barbershop and from there the kids bring out the meals to the cars for the individuals who have signed up to get them.

Last year they saw an uptick in the amount of meals with about 90 meals given out. The meals are a traditional Thanksgiving course of turkey, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, roll, pumpkin pie and a cookie donated from Cheryl’s Cookies. This year they will also be giving free drinks thanks to a donation from Coca-Cola.
