Dresden Home Decked Out for Christmas with Huge Blow Mold Collection

Dresden is on their Christmas light game this year with a large number of homes and businesses festively decorated. If you traditionally drive around to look at lights as my family does, you will not want to miss a trip down High Street in Dresden to see the massive 160 Christmas blow mold display at the Captain’s House.

William and Dawna Walters, the current owners of one of Dresden’s historic homes, welcome everyone to see their display which is lit from dusk until 10 pm seven days a week through December 26th.

The display is very impressive and includes many vintage blow molds from William’s mom who started collecting in the 70s. After getting married in 2017, the Walterses have grown the collection, adding to it when they can. “We are always looking for new decorations to add. There isn’t anything specific, just usually whatever we come across that we think is different and unique”, Dawna explained.

The couple has many favorite decorations including a life-size nativity that was donated to the Walterses by a friend in Proctorville, Ohio. Other favorites include the school, church, and white drummer bear.

Upon viewing the lights please keep in mind that the Captain’s House is a private residence. There are many cords running throughout the property, so the owners request that you stay in your vehicle to prevent any accidents. Cars may turn around in the back lot which is marked off with lights.

Be sure to roll down your windows so you can hear the music that goes with the lights.
