Scottie Swim Squad Wins Home Meet Against Six Area Teams

On January 11th, at the Muskingum County Family YMCA, the Tri-Valley Swimmers held a meet with seven teams from the area including Bloom Carroll, Marietta, John Glenn, Northridge, Newark Licking Valley, and Groveport Madison.

The Scottie swimmers took the teams top spots for both men and women among all of the schools involved.

For the first event of the night Tri-Valley took first place in the Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay with the team of Sarah Jacoby, Mazie Mallet, Abri Mallet, and Mia Fuhriman who swam in at a time of 2:09.38.

The boys team took first place as well in the Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay with the team of AJ Lawler, Gabe Lentz, Sam Wegner, and Jack Morehouse who finished with a time of 2:03.46.

For the Girls 200 Yard Freestyle Jesi Fuhriman grabbed first place with a time of 2:19.24 followed in second place by teammate Dani Stewart. Also for the Girls 100 Yard Butterfly, Jesi Fuhriman grabbed second place with a time of 1:11.31.

Isaac Lanning took second place in the Boys 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:50.92.

Sarah Jacoby swam in second on the Girls 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:01.47. For the Boys 100 Yard Freestyle.

AJ Lawler took first place with a time of 53.69.

The team of Mia Fuhriman, Emma Lewis, Dani Stewart, and Jesi Fuhriman took first place in the Girls 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:54.37.

Mia Fuhriman took first place in the Girls 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:20.53 followed closely in second by her teammate Mazie Mallet with a time of 1:21.15.

For the Boys 100 Yard Breaststroke AJ Lawler won top position with a time of 1:09.68 just edging out an opponent from Newark Licking Valley by three tenths of a second.

Tri-Valley moves on to the Northeast Classic on Saturday, January 14th at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton with a start time of 8:30am and the competition ends around 1pm.
