The Tri-Valley High School swim team has been working hard this year under the direction of coach Christi Holmes, and nothing says that more than the Muskingum Valley League Title that they brought home on Wednesday, January 25th.
During the championship meet, the squad of Dresden swimmers took top points overall with a total team score of 311 with River View taking second at 194 points. For the women the Lady Dawgs almost doubled the score of their closest competitor with 196 points to Coshocton’s second place finish at 88 points. The men came in second place falling just shy of the top spot taken by River View who had 121 points compared to Tri-Valley’s 115.
The team made their mark by taking top marks in 13 of the 22 total events. They started the night by taking first place in the Girls 200 SC Meter Medley Relay with a team of Abri Mallet, Dani Stewart, Jesi Fuhriman, and Emma Lewis swimming in at a time of 2:19.13.
Likewise in the Boys 200 SC Meter Relay Medley the Dawgs took first place again with the team of AJ Lawler, Owen Harney, Gabe Lentz, and Sam Wegner who swam in at a time of 2:10.09.
With wins in the first two events, Tri-Valley just kept chipping away at the competition. The MVL Champions move on to the Southeastern Ohio Swim League Championships, Saturday, February 4th, in Gambier.
