Virginia Lee Garver, 92, of Dresden, died Tuesday morning February 7, 2023 at Altercare in Zanesville.
Born April 7, 1930, at her home in Shannon, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Bertha (McClintock) Powell. Virginia was a loving homemaker and enjoyed taking and organizing photographs. She spent her winters organizing photo albums. She was a member of the Dresden First Baptist Church for over 40 years. Virginia loved going to the Senior Center, her church, Sunday school, and anything that involved her family gathering together.
Surviving are her three children; daughter Trudy K. Harper of Dresden; two sons, John R. Garver of Westerville and Jeff W. Garver of Dresden; five grandchildren, Shannon (Willis) King, III, Katie (Ryan) Bailey, Nick (Sara) Garver, Craig Garver and Jenna (Ryan) Debolt; ten great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dayle L. Garver, whom she married July 31, 1948 and who died August 22, 2006; four brothers, Martin, Frank, Paul and Warren Powell and two sisters, Eva Harper and Francis Harper.
Friends and family may call from 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 7pm Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Homes, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, February 13, 2023 at the funeral home with Mr. Frosty Pierce officiating.
Virginia will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, Dayle, in Dresden Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dresden First Baptist Church or Dresden Fire Department.
