Here in Dresden, it is always nice to see an empty storefront come to life again and to have new options available for shoppers.
Running her own business is something Tara Watts has always wanted to do, and with the youngest of her four children getting ready to graduate next year, she wanted to start thinking about something she could do closer to her home in Zanesville. Tara has been working with her husband at New Lexington Schools, she is the Family Engagement Wellness Coordinator, and he is the Principal. But with the long commute and late hours, Tara has been thinking for a while about starting a business as a sort of retirement plan.
Tara finally put her plan in place when she opened Beauty by Design in November of 2022 in the 800 block of Main Street in Dresden. In her shop, you will find gifts from seven different vendors and artisans as well as floral arrangements and bouquets for all occasions. While you are browsing Tara will gladly make you your favorite hot or cold coffee, or you can choose the flavor of the day at the self-service coffee station.
In addition to her shop Tara is holding book club meetings twice a month on Thursday evenings and some sort of art or craft on alternating Thursdays. For more information find Beauty By Design on Facebook and Instagram.
