Spring Semester is in Full Swing at Zane State College with Lab Enhancements and First-Dollar Scholarships

Submitted

Zanesville, OH – The Zane State College Criminal Justice Program recently updated its investigations lab with equipment designed to enhance the courses significantly. An updated backflow workstation permits students to work with various chemicals and powders without the risk of inhalation. Primarily, this will be used when working with fingerprint powders.

The fume hood allows students to work with various materials they would not otherwise be able to work with without respirators. The fume hood is much more powerful than the workstation and is used primarily for the chemical enhancement of fingerprints. And the cyanoacrylate (superglue) chamber permits the safe use of superglue for fingerprint discovery and enhancement (those who wear contact lenses should be especially cautious when using superglue). The addition of the chamber permits the safe use of this chemical.
