While the average American owns over 35 tees, the average American also has that one special shirt. That one shirt that has seen us through the seasons of life. It’s that one tee we are so attached to we’ll never get rid of it.
Founded on a drawer full of their own beloved, tattered tees and hearts to create wearable art that matters, Dirty White Tees owners Jesh Folden and Jeff Wickerham are the makers of those shirts. With original designs inspired by the things we all hold near and dear, The Dirty White Tees collection is sure to become your favorite. Simply put: they wear what they like and believe you should, too.
Their latest release commemorates the Dresden Jefferson Jayhawks basketball team that won two back-to-back championships in 1963 and 1964. With a soft buttery feel, the shirt comes in a muted basketball-orange color of Jefferson High with a custom vintage Jayhawk mascot.
“The design of this shirt tells a story with its nostalgic nod to the days of the championships. We want the person wearing the shirt to feel a sense of hometown pride. When someone has this shirt on, we want folks to say to them, ‘tell me about your shirt’ to keep the Jayhawks story alive,” Designer and Co-Owner Jesh Folden said.
“As our community cheers on our local basketball teams and March Madness approaches, we thought the release of this special throwback would come at a good time,” Co-Owner Jeff Wickerham said. “To get your Jayhawks shirt, come see us at the Union Square Thursday Backyard Market, at the Longaberger University Building, on March 16.”
Mark your calendar to purchase a shirt for $25 on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Union Square, 701 Chestnut Street in Dresden, from 5 – 8 p.m. While there, swing by the Jayhawks tribute on Main Street in the 9th Street Park in Dresden to learn more about the winning team.
