Tri-Valley Local Schools held the Celebration of the Arts on Thursday, March 16th at the High School in Dresden. The show featured performances by the Middle School choir, the High School indoor drumline and color guard, the 3rd-grade choir (with students combined from Nashport, Frazeysburg, Adamsville, and Dresden), and the 5-8th grade band.
Along with the performances, there were artwork displays from all Tri-Valley schools crossing almost every imaginable medium. Some of the artwork included colorful student self-portraits and portraits of their favorite celebrities, drawings of pets and other wildlife, and colorful cityscapes as well as snowy trees and woodlands. There were more abstract pieces at the show with beautiful linework and colored pencil on black or colored construction paper. There was a large collection of clay sculptures to be seen including snowmen and seals on ice.
Some of the other pieces at the show were using colorful arrays of tissue paper and plastic to make a representation of flowers, a plastic surfboard, and whatever they could dream up.
Just from the elementary students alone, there were over 700 students involved with over 1000 art pieces on display.
Judging by the crowd at the event, the show was very successful.
