Last week when I opened my door to let my chocolate Lab Ellie onto my enclosed porch here in Zanesville, I saw a small snake about 12 inches long on the porch. I stomped on it and will be aware that its Momma might come looking for it. I hate snakes!
Susan Hand, my daughter Jenny and I attended The History of Prospect Place at the Dresden Library on Thursday, April 13. We enjoyed hearing about this historic mansion in Trinway that is in the process of being restored. It was a station on the Underground Railroad.
On Monday, April 17th I looked out my door and saw a big change in the weather from Sunday’s 70’s temperature to 40’s and a short hail storm the size of a pea but white. It looked like a rice storm that lasted 10 minutes and gone!
On Tuesday, April 18th I enjoyed a visit from Lois Tucker. Lois and her husband Tom live out by Frazeysburg and we have a lot of years to ‘catch up’ on.
Jesus taught multitudes about who are blessed in Matthew 5:3-11, called the 9 Beatitudes. The Webster’s Students Dictionary describes beatitude: 1. supreme bliss or happiness; blessedness. 2. Any of the declarations (the Beatitudes) made by Christ in the Sermon on the Mount beginning ‘Blessed are’….I am blessed every day by God’s Mercy and Grace as I am aware of the conditions in this world and snakes. One of the reasons I don’t like snakes is that satan used a snake to deceive Eve and Adam to be against God’s plan for them that affects all of us today.
Jesus spoke: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”. John 16:33, Thompson Chain Reference bible.
