On Friday, April 21, 2023, the Zane State College Foundation, with presenting partner The Community Bank and supporting sponsors Muskingum County Library System and Shelly and Sands, are teaming up to offer a Reading is Fun literacy event in Muskingum, Guernsey, and Noble counties. This event, which takes place on National Kindergarten Day, was designed to promote the joy of reading and demonstrate that reading is fun.
Nearly 80 kindergarten classrooms will receive a copy of “Giraffe Problems” for their libraries. In addition, each child will receive a book to take home with them. Over 1,500 books in total will be gifted to area youth. This event would not be possible without the hours of preparation and planning from community and student volunteers, and the Reading is Fun Co-Chairs Jennifer Allen and Courtney Jones, who also serve on the Zane State College Foundation.
Photos will be posted on Zane State College’s social media and throughout the community using #ZSCReadingIsFun.
