For the past several years the Legacy Dinner has brought together all facets of the Longaberger community from members of the Longaberger family to Dresden business owners/leaders and of course the loyal “extended family” of Longaberger supporters, weavers, enthusiasts, and stylists. The Legacy Dinner is a celebration of the past and the exciting future of the company with XCEL Brands leading the way into the next chapter.
The event was hosted by the Dresden Community Association and held at the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport.
As with previous Legacy Dinner events, baskets were signed by the Longaberger family after a full Italian dinner catered by Virtues Golf Club, and of course, after dinner, plenty of stories were shared by the Longaberger family.
The Legacy Dinner is normally a standalone event, but this year it is followed by two more days (June 2nd and 3rd) of festivities that make up America’s Basket Festival. The event takes place in Dresden, Ohio the birthplace of Longaberger Baskets and home to the “World’s Largest Basket” and will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
Friday’s events include a block party from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Union Square (701 Chestnut Street) and the official opening and ribbon cutting for the Longaberger General Store (located at 600 Main Street) at noon.
On Saturday a continuation of the block party at Union Square will take place as well as a lecture series starting at 11:00 a.m. also at Union Square.
During both days attendees can enjoy shopping, dining, music, and activities at various businesses.
