Tri-Valley’s Commercial Drivers License program received a large grant from the J.W. & M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation totaling $105,000 which is earmarked to cover the expense involved in purchasing a semi-truck, providing a convenient way for students to work toward earning their CDL close to home by completing their pad-hours and drive time.
Tri-Valley is one of the only high schools in the state that offers the CDL program but works closely with the Mid-East Career and Technology Center.
The J.W. & M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation awards local non-profit organizations with grants throughout the year. For this grant cycle, four additional recipients received grant money including the Village of Dresden (Dresden Swim Center) for repairs and maintenance to the pool.
