Dresden Dorados Pick Up Pace In Second Swim Meet of the Season

With the summer swim season set to stretch into mid-July, the Dorados are well on their way to having a great season with a big win over the Muskingum Y Megs on June 14th, held at the Dresden Swim Center.

The 68-event meet was held under a clear sky with a vast number of supporters, parents, and spectators on hand.

The girls 9-10 team took first and second place in the 100yd Medley Relay with the team of Jess Phipps (9), Reese Espenlaub (9), Ruby McCoy (9), and Ashlynn Lewellen (10) swimming in with a time of 1:44.76 while teammates Lucy Bradford (10), Reganne Wheeler (10), Melody Rule (9), and Addie Martin (10) had a time of 2:10.56.

The boys 9-10 team stepped up to the blocks next, and the Dorados team of Connor Myers (10), Kamden Buckner (10), Creed Fuhriman (10), and Wade Jones (9) swam into first place in the 100yd Medley Relay with a time of 1:40.73.

The girls’ 11-12 team did equally well in the 200yd Medley Relay with the team of Stella Fuhriman (12), Rylinn Martin (11), Lydia Collet (12), and Sophia Pape (12) taking first place with a time of 2:38.01.

Continuing to rack up the wins the Dorados boys 13-14 200yd Medley Relay team of Kollin Buckner (14), Coen Fuhriman (13), Dallin Stirling (14), and Garrett Stirling (14) grabbed a time of 2:18.33 for a first place finish.

Next up was the womens 15-18 200yd Medley Relay team of Dani Stewart (16), Mia Fuhriman (16), Jesi Fuhriman (16), and Sarah Jacoby (15) with the winning time of 2:07.59.

The team of Sam Wegner (15), Owen Harney (15), Tillman Hawk (17), and Casen Hirtle (16) took first place for the Dorados in the Mens 15-18 200yd Medley Relay with a time of 2:08.91.

Individually for the boys team, the Dorados racked up 16 first-place finishes and the girls team grabbed first place a whopping 24 times for the single events.

The boys also took first in the 8 & Under 100yd Freestyle Relay with the team of Jax Martin (8), Lane McNichols (8), Matt Smith (8), and Carter Cunningham (7) who swam in with a time of 1:56.67.

For the girls 9-10 100yd Freestyle Relay the team of Reese Espenlaub (10), Jess Phipps (9), Ruby McCoy (9), and Ashlynn Lewellen (10) got first place with a time of 1:36.15.

Kamden Buckner (10), Kendrick, Kimble (9), Wade Jones (9), and Creed Fuhriman (10) took first place in the boys 9-10 100yd Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:25.11.

The girls 11-12 200yd Freestyle Relay, Stella Fuhriman (12), Rylinn Martin (11), Sophia Pape (12), and Lydia Collet (12) got a first-place time of 2:16.53.

Jude Hugebeck (11), Ben Smith (11), Brantley Spragg (12), and Seth Binkley (11) grabbed first place in the boys 11-12 200yrd Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:15.58.

The girls team grabbed another win in the girls 13-14 200yd Freestyle Relay with the team of Lily Grewell (14), Abby Beebe (13), Ginger Blagg (13), and Riley Gottardi (14) who swam in at a time of 2:23.92.

In the boys 13-14 200yd Freestyle Relay the Dorados team of Kollin Buckner (14), Avery Stewart (13), Coen Fuhriman (13), and Dallin Stirling (14) won first place at a time of 1:53.81.

Sarah Jacoby (15), Gabby Hensel (16), Mia Fuhriman (16), and Jesi Fuhriman (16) swam in first place with a time of 1:52.20 in the Womens 15-18 200yd Freestyle Relay.

In the Mens 15-18 200yd Freestyle Relay, the team of Sam Wegner (15), Caden Blake (15), Owen Harney (15), and Casen Hirtle (16) got a first-place time of 1:59.26.

For the last event of the night, the Dorados got first place with the team of Tillman Hawk (17), Garrett Stirling (14), Addy Kain (15), and Hannah Tezen (15), in the Mixed 11-18 200yd Freestyle Relay with the time of 2:41.65.

The Dorados next meet is scheduled for Saturday, June 24th, against the Pataskala Porpoises at the Pataskala Community Pool, 500 S Twp Rd, Pataskala, OH 43062.
