The Longaberger General Store opened with a grand opening event and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, June 2 at noon as part of America’s Basket Festival. The new store is located at 600 Main Street in Dresden.
“We are so proud to open the Longaberger General Store here and to have a physical space for everyone to come and visit, touch and feel our beautiful products, our beautiful baskets that are still made here in Dresden, Ohio,” explained Joe Falco, Chief Creative Officer for Xcel Brands.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, hundreds of people lined up to wait for their turn to see the Longaberger General Store, talk to the Longaberger staff and family, and have their baskets signed.
“We’re really turning the page to a new chapter of Longaberger. When I looked outside and saw all of the people lined up around the block it made me tear up. I was so happy!” said Rachel Longaberger, the Spokesperson for Longaberger.
The new store showcases some of the 1500 products currently available for purchase through Longaberger Stylists.
“I love that they are displayed in a home setting, the best place for our products to be seen,” explained Rachel.
The Longaberger General Store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the week and will be the home to some future Longaberger live streams as well as a location for multiple events.
