Nationwide, Farm CreditMid-America, and Dorothy L. Miller Sponsor County Delegates to Ohio 4-H State Leadership Camp

Aaron McConnell, Halle Peck and Hayden Weck were selected to represent Muskingum County at the Ohio 4-H State Leadership Camp at 4-H Camp Ohio, June 1-5, 2023.

Nationwide, Farm Credit Mid-America, and the Dorothy Long Miller 4-H Leadership Camp Fund sponsors the program and provides substantial camp scholarships to 4-H members nominated from each of Ohio’s 88 counties.

The camp is designed to build leadership skills among participants by encouraging them to try new things without fear of failure; providing opportunities to allow them to experience personal growth; and offering the chance to learn new ideas and methods to help strengthen local 4-H programs. The Ohio 4-H State Leadership Camp has been delivered every summer since 1946 and is recognized as one of the best of its kind in the nation.

The participants were chosen for the camp based on their demonstrated leadership potential.

Aaron McConnell is the son of Joyce Crozier of Dresden, Ohio. Aaron is a member of the Renegades 4-H club, advised by Kari Burkey, Addy Weck, Kirsten Hatfield and Martie Dusenbery. Aaron’s projects include Archery, Not Just Knots, Outdoors, Why Trees Matter and Leadership.

Halle Peck is the daughter of Erin Peck Serdy of Hopewell, Ohio and Sergeant First Class Neil J Cornett, currently serving in Erbil, Iraq. Halle is the president of Valley View 4-H Club and the Treasurer of the Junior Fair Board. Halle’s projects include Market Hogs and Cake Decorating.

Hayden Weck is the son of Corbin and Adeline Weck of Zanesville, Ohio. Hayden is also a member of the Adamsville Renegades 4-H club. Hayden’s projects include Diversity: The Source of Our Strength, Young Engineers in Solar Energy, Sports Nutrition, Dog Obedience, and Goats (Pygmy, Dairy and Pack).
