The Village of Frazeysburg announces the receipt of a $10,578.96 grant that provides for several equipment needs for the opening of the 2023 Pool Season.
“Our thanks to the Schooler Foundation for the grant money to repair items at the pool that will help things run smoothly this summer and give the Community a place to cool off in the heat,” said Mayor Gerald Howard.
The monies provided for a replacement pump for the pool to be used in case of the two-year-old current pump breaking down, which happened the first week of the season. Because of this grant, there is now a replacement pump on the shelf as repairs were made to the one that broke down. In 2021, during the supply chain issues in the country, the pool had to be closed for several days until a new pump arrived. “This way the Village is being proactive in preparing for issues that may close the pool on hot days, preventing swimmers from having a way to cool off.” States Council Person Fred Wolford.
Grant monies also provided for two new lifeguard chairs as the antiquated chairs were showing signs of aging and could be a hazard to the lifeguards.
Also provided was money to fix the ladders to climb in and out of the pool however the repairs will be made once the Village employees drain the pool.
The Frazeysburg Pool is open daily, Sunday through Saturday, from Noon to 7 p.m., weather permitting. There is a kiddie pool for the little ones and lanes for those who wish to swim laps. The pool is available for after-hours parties from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Should you have any questions please call the pool at 740-817-5027 to speak with Pool Manager Caitlynn Wriston.
The Village Council, Employees, and Mayor all wish to sincerely thank the Schooler Foundation for making a difference in the community and assuring that communities have a safe place to swim in the summer.
