Downtown Zanesville will be packed with vendors and artwork of all kinds in a massive coming together and celebration of the arts in Muskingum County during the 13th annual Y-Bridge Arts Festival. The two-day festival begins Friday, August 4, 2023, at 2 p.m. and runs until dark, and then continues the following day, Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 11 a.m. until dark.
Over 60 artists and around 11 food and beverage vendors will be set up near Secrest Auditorium on Shinnick and 3rd Streets. Additionally, participating art galleries will be open during the event including Y Bridge Culture Center, The Art Loft, Ron Cole & Cole’s Aircraft Aviation Art Gallery Luminaria.
“Our festival is a great mix of art styles and features many of our area’s well-known musical friends as well. It has a true community feel, and we welcome everyone to experience the feel of our community!” stated Art COZ President, Erin Cole.
There are also several nearby restaurants including the newly established The Downtown Exchange, a food hall featuring a wide selection of food vendors as well as long-time downtown staples The Old Market House Inn and Bryan Place Restaurant.
The line-up of musicians for the festival includes The Wayfarers who take the stage at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, The Groove Band is set to perform Friday at 6:30 p.m., and Big Fat Dog Blues Band who will perform on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
The Y-Bridge Arts Festival was created by Linda Regula-Warren a pillar in the local art scene responsible for fostering several art communities. The festival has continued since her passing in 2020 in her memory. Linda’s likeness is used on all of the festival’s printed marketing materials. “Her passion for the arts was second to none!” Cole commented.
“Our festival is and has been nurtured by such a caring committee. Many, like Bob Grayson, Marilyn Knell, and Tami Swope, have been with the festival committee since its inception. We have added some super-qualified folks in the area of logistics. Our partnership with the City of Zanesville and the Chamber of Commerce is very important to our committee too. It feels like family,” explained Cole.
