Dawgs Soccer Off To Break Even Start After Beating Heath But Falling To John Glenn

So far the Tri-Valley season has been level with a big win against Heath and then a close conference loss to rival John Glenn setting the current record at 0 – 1 MVL / 1 – 1 Overall.

On the road to nearby Heath on Thursday, August 17th, the Dawgs were in rare form as they hit the field. Both defensively and offensively the Scotties kept the Bulldogs in their cage as they dominated the game. The Scotties were quick to take the lead and they held on to it throughout the rest of the game. The boys had four goals in the first half while blanking out the Bulldogs on their home field leaving the Scotties up 4 – 0 at halftime.

After the half, Heath tried to mount many offensives against Tri-Valley but were only successful in landing one goal for the entire second half of the game, but it wasn’t enough to stifle the charge that the Dawgs already had in place as they laid out another whopping four goals to end the game 8 – 1 against Heath.

For the game Freshman Lewis Mozena had one goal, Junior Yuvi Bastola had two goals and one assist, Senior Sam Schott had three goals and one assist, and Senior teammate Devin Watts had two goals and one assist. Sophomore Owen Harney had a total of three saves for the game.

Back on the road on Tuesday, August 22nd, the Dawgs traveled in the opposite direction as they headed for East Muskingum County to face the formidable John Glenn Lil’ Muskies.

The John Glenn game had a much different tone for the Scottie boys who were battling to get their footing in the game as the Lil’ Muskies pushed forward for two goals in the first half as the Dawgs set scoreless going into halftime.

The Scotties made their way back to the field after half time to a much more even battle against John Glenn, with each team scoring one goal and tying for second half. Unfortunately for Tri-Valley the damage was already done and they went home with a 3 – 1 conference loss evening out their record at 1 – 1 so far for the season.
