Zanesville High Schools girls varsity tennis lost to Marietta on Tuesday, August 15th, and to West Holmes on Wednesday, August 16th, but they picked up the pieces and came back swing with two solid wins over Logan and Claymont.
On Saturday, the 19th, the girls won against Logan 4 – 1 with the winners for Zanesville #2 singles Chloe Buchanan 6 – 2, 6 – 3. #3 singles Jersey Nutter won 6 – 3 , 6 – 3. For doubles Blair Lowe and Ava Puterbaugh won 6 – 4, 3 – 6, 6 – 3. Also in doubles Jazzy Spencer and Ryleigh McComb won with scores of 6 – 4, 3 – 6, and 7 – 5.
The girls traveled to Claymont on Monday, August 21st where they picked up their second win of the season by a score of 4 – 1.
Kamrie Simon overtook Claire Carlisle by a score of 6 – 2, and 6 – 1. Chloe Buchanan downed Brittanie Connor 6 – 0 , 6 – 1. Jersey Nutter beat Mal Douglas 6 – 1, 6 – 0.
In doubles the team of Blair Lowe and Ava Puterbaugh knocked off Brinley Poland and Mattie Dean by the score of 6 – 3, 6 – 2.
The only win for Claymont came in the doubles super tiebreaker between Danika Ledford and Kylee Napier versus Jazzy Spencer and Ryleigh McComb by the score of 6 – 1, 0 – 6, 10 – 5.
