John Glenn battles through conference rivals River View and Philo before facing MVL leading Scotties

John Glenn vs River View (10/6/23)

River View traveled to meetup with John Glenn in New Concord on Friday, October 6th. The Black Bears came into the game without any wins. The Lil’ Muskies didn’t waste any time showing why they had an overall 6-1 record coming into the matchup, they quickly scored two touchdowns in the first quarter of play leaving River View at a 14 – 0 deficit going into the second period.

The second quarter of the game didn’t bring any relief for the Black Bears as John Glenn picked up four more touchdowns and a two-point conversion to send their opponents to the locker room at halftime down 29 – 0.

After the half the Lil’ Muskies continued rolling over the visitors with a straight reign of three touchdowns to end the third quarter up 63 – 0 over River View. After a scoreless fourth John Glenn walked away with another conference victory.

Philo vs Tri-Valley (10/6/23)

After coming off of a big shutout loss to the Sheridan Generals, the Electrics were hoping to have better luck against the Scotties, but Tri-Valley had other plans, right from kickoff they started taking over the game scoring two quick touchdowns in the first quarter.

The second quarter saw the Electrics pick up two touchdowns of their own but the Scotties kept trucking along tacking on another three touchdowns of their own to end the half up 35 – 14.

Both teams came out of the locker room ready to fight and they battled neck and neck during the third quarter each scoring a single touchdown.

In the fourth quarter the Electrics came to life, scoring 14 points to Tri-Valley’s 10 but it was not enough and the Dawgs ended the game with the 52 – 35 victory.

John Glenn vs Philo (10/13/23)

The Lil’ Muskies took to the field with tons of determination as they pushed out 16 points in the first half of play while holding the Electrics at 0.

Philo tried to battle back in the third quarter with two touchdowns but John Glenn had added two more touchdowns to their tally to end the quarter up 30 – 12.

The final quarter of play saw the Lil’ Muskies shove out one more touchdown to finish off their opponent with a 37 – 12 winning score.

John Glenn moves on to face the MVL leading Tri-Valley Scotties on Friday, October 20th, as Philo will face the Maysville Panthers in a home game at Duncan Falls.
